Sake Flask (tokkuri) TSUKUSHINOKO
(03-3791-5495) Ikejiri Ohashi. Cheap, homey, small , warm, pleasant and tastey. Comfort food rather than elegance, amazingly cheap sake. 3-1-11Higashiyama, Meguro-ku.


Sake Flask (tokkuri)SASAGIN (03-5454-3715; see story) in Yoyogi-Uehara has excellent food and  great sake at prices that bring you back. Open 5pm to 11:30pm, on Saturday from 5pm to 11pm. Closed  Sunday and Holidays. Moderate Prices. Address 1-32-15 Yoyogi-Uehara.


Sake Flask (tokkuri)AKAONI (03-3410-9918) in Sangenjaya has huge sake selection, always with new stuff coming in. Awesome sashimi. Open 5:30pm  to 11:30pm. Closed Sundays and Holidays. Relatively  expensive . Address Sangenjaya 2-15-3



Sake Flask (tokkuri) TAKARA (03-5223-9888)  Located on the B1 level of the Tokyo Forum at Yurakucho Station. Very interesting tapas-influenced food menu, and a wide range of unique sake. Open 5pm  to 11:30pm. Closed Sunday  and Holidays. Moderate Prices.



Sake Flask (tokkuri)SAKANATEI (03-3780-1313) in Shibuya is a small, cozy and popular place. Make reservations. Large selection of  sake. Food is  creative and fresh and displayed in bowls on the counter. Open 5:30pm to 11pm. Closed Sunday. Moderate Prices.Top pf Page Address 2-23-15 Dogenzaka.


Sake Flask (tokkuri)JAPONTEI (03-3263-3642) in Kojimachi  (above Exit 3) has a stylish modern Japanese interior. Wonderful, creative food, and  wide selection of sake. Young crowd. Open 6pm-2am. Lunch 11:30am to 3:30pm. Closed Sat Sun and  Holidays. Expensive. Address 3-4 Kojimachi.


Sake Flask (tokkuri)KONAKARA (03-5394-2340) near JR Otsuka Station is a bit out of the way, but the food, sake and beer are outstanding. Small shop run by young husband and wife team. Fresh, seasonal dishes. Open 6pm to 11:30pm. Closed Wednesday. Moderate Prices. Address 1-14-7 Kita Otsuka.


Sake Flask (tokkuri)SHUNJU (03-3770-0019) in Shibuya is a large place, divided into several areas with distinct atmospheres. Try to get a low table on  the 2nd floor. Wonderful, unique food and sake menu, lots of fresh  vegetables, fish and tofu. English menu. Open 6pm to 11:30pm. Moderate to Expensive. Address 2-32-12 Dogenzaka.


Sake Flask (tokkuri)TARUICHI (03-3208-9772) in Kabukicho  specializes in whale and great sake, with nice izakaya atmosphere and fair prices. Open 5pm to 10pm. Closed Sunday and Holidays. Address Kabukicho 1-17-12.



Sake Flask (tokkuri)SASASHU (03-3971-9363) in Ikebukuro  is upscale and beautifully traditional. Not cheap, but nice. Good food and sake. Address Ikebukuro 2-2-2.


This is only the tip of the iceberg. New sake pubs are  popping up all the time, and old ones are being rediscovered. One or two favorite watering and feeding  holes are all you need, though, to educate –and satiate. But come back and visit us often.
